- This supplements the final inpatient PPS rule
that was published in the August 18Federal Register. The delay in the
final wage indices and payment rates was due to the federal appellate court's
April decision inBellevue Hospital Center v. Leavittthat required CMS
to collect new occupational mix data and fully implement the adjustment to the
wage index by October 1, 2006.
